After graduating from UCLA in 2009 with a Psychobiology major, I found work as a tutor. After working under various tutoring organizations, I eventually began tutoring independently. Tutoring led me to entertain the idea of being a full-time high school teacher.

To test whether a profession in teaching would be suitable for me, I began work as a substitute teacher in January 2011. I began my Teaching Credential Program at National University in January 2012 while working simultaneously as a tutor and a substitute teacher. In 2015, I was offered a full-time teaching position. I taught Integrated Math 1, Chemistry, and Chemistry AP. However, my time in the public education system was not meant to last.

After teaching in a public high school for a couple of years, I realized that my ability to help students was limited. After separating myself from the school system, I now embrace the freedom of being an independent educational consultant.

In my time as an educational consultant, I have helped numerous students in a variety of ways. From helping a student successfully appeal an initial rejection from UCI to helping another student bring a "D" in Calculus to an "A," I find my work with students to be very fulfilling.  This new direction in my teaching career has allowed me to satisfy another passion of mine: traveling. In 2017, the family of one of my clients was generous enough to pay for my travel expenses, so I could work one-on-one with the student in South Korea.

In 2018, I took advantage of an opportunity to work with a childhood friend in a vacation rental management start-up. I spent a year in Asia as the company’s representative, with Taiwan as a home base. After a year, I realized how much I missed working with students, and so I switched back to working mainly as an educational consultant. This change could not have happened at a more fortunate time. When Covid-19 began to emerge as a pandemic in early 2019, I found myself in a favorable position. Schools worldwide made a hasty shift to online classrooms, and many students were left ill-prepared for this sudden change. In the time I had spent working remotely in Asia, I had gained several tools to aid in me effectively communicating with people on the other side of the world. I now leverage these advantages to simulate in-person tutoring and college advisement.

In the past 8 years, I have worked with over 100 students of the widest range in needs and learning preferences. This experience has given me the ability to expedite the learning of any student.
